To enhance investment confidence and apparently to facilitate their life the government has established a One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS). The primary objective of the center is to help investor to start their business by regrouping up to 18 different administrations under a single roof. Will it help Thailand to regain foreign investors confidence.

Is there any limitation as to the amount of foreign currency you may bring in?

You may transfer foreign currency into Thailand or bring it in cash without any limit.

However if you bring into Thailand in cash an aggregate amount of foreign currency exceeding USD 20,000 or its equivalent you must declare it to a customs officer and it you transfer foreign currency exceeding USD 20,000 or its equivalent you will need to file a Foreign Exchange Transaction Form (“FETF”).

Should you purchase off plan?

From experience, we know that most problems occur when buyers purchase property “off plan”. Whether or not the transaction has a favorable outcome will depend solely upon one single factor: Did the buyer purchase from a reliable developer or not?
